These two muscles form a single tendon called Achilles tendon. The Achilles tendon is getting attached to the heel. This muscle helps in plantar flexion of the foot.

Seated heel rise:

Patient comfortably seated on chair.  Place your feet on the ground. Gently rise your heels by placing the ball of the foot on the ground. You can do this for a period of one to two minutes to improve circulation and mobility.
